Ocasa was born from a moment in the desert when the sun dipped low and everything turned gold.
The word Ocaso means sunset in Spanish, and that feeling — the warmth, the quiet, the soft glow — is what shaped this brand. Ocasa grew out of those hours when the day slows down, the light softens, and you return to yourself.
It’s skincare made for the golden hour, inspired by the land that teaches us to move gently and live with intention.

Ocasa Botanica was created for people who believe the things they put in and on their bodies, and bring into their homes, should be good for both people and the planet.
We’re an online apothecary and market providing conscious shoppers with clean, holistic, and handmade products for health and home.
Steeped in the warmth of Western sunsets, where the day fades to night, framed by cactus and sagebrush, we want to help people return to the old ways of living off the land. And to restore the wisdom of previous generations to modern life.
That’s why we bring together thoughtfully crafted herbal products from trusted makers who share our values of land stewardship, ingredient quality, and traditional craftsmanship.
Through our work, we also support efforts to preserve the wildlife, landscapes, and cultural heritage of the desert Southwest. 1% of proceeds from our Ocasa brand products are donated to organizations that help protect burros, horses, and the land.

why i started ocasa
Hi, I'm Edina, the founder and curator behind OCASA.
I grew up in Europe, where my family believed in good food, herbs, and time-honored remedies before reaching for medication. My work is shaped by my studies in herbalism and the old traditions of European Folk Medicine, where simple, whole‑ingredient remedies were part of everyday life.
I care deeply about what I eat, put on my body, and have in my home. But finding truly non-toxic products can mean spending countless hours researching ingredients, reading labels, and trying to find products made by people who really care.
Too often, the brands doing incredible work are buried beneath companies with bigger advertising budgets and louder messaging.
I also can't ignore the waste, ordering products from dozens of websites, each shipped separately, wrapped in excess packaging, arriving one box at a time.
I just kept thinking: There has to be a better way. So I built the store I had been searching for myself.
2025
The Spark
My journey started with a small tallow skincare brand called Cowboy & Co. Every jar was handcrafted by me using grass-fed tallow, botanical infusions, and the same old apothecary principles that have always guided my approach to health and wellness.
2026
The Growth
As I continued my herbalist training and saw how deeply customers connected with my formulas, I realized there was a much bigger need in the market — a truly holistic retail space that carries only handmade, herbalist‑formulated products.
That vision became OCASA. I became more immersed in the world of herbalism, I discovered a community of incredible herbalists and makers creating products with the same care, integrity, and reverence for the land.
I realized I didn't want to compete with these makers, I wanted to stand beside them.

The Rebrand
Cowboy & Co. grew into Ocasa Botanica: a place where my own handcrafted formulations could live alongside herbal products from artisans I trust.
The name changed, but the heart of my work remained the same: creating and sharing products that honor traditional wisdom, clean ingredients, and the people who make them.
You finally have a one‑stop herbal marketplace where you can find everything you need — from hair care to skincare to wellness goods — all crafted by trusted makers who work with whole plants, real ingredients, and traditional methods.
You won’t have to read labels or second‑guess ingredients. You can shop with full confidence, knowing every product has been personally vetted and intentionally chosen.

Every product, ingredient, and brand we carry has been carefully researched and vetted for quality, transparency, and sustainability. If it doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't make it onto our apothecary shelves.
We partner with herbalists, farmers, land stewards, and artisans who believe that how something is sourced and made matters just as much as how well it works.
Many of our makers are women-owned and family-run businesses using organic ingredients, small-batch methods, and sustainable packaging. Whenever possible, we prioritize locally-grown and American-made products, with responsible global sourcing of botanicals that cannot be cultivated locally.
And when we can't find a product that lives up to those standards, we create it ourselves.

Founded in the study of herbalism
My own formulations and curation process are shaped by years of studying holistic nutrition and herbal medicine.
Through the Herbal Academy, I've completed coursework in:

But my greatest teachers are our ancestors—the people who depended on the plants, animals, and land around them for their survival. The knowledge they passed down is sacred…and matters more now than ever.
