OCASA was born from a simple observation: where you live changes what your skin needs.
Dry air. Relentless wind. High altitude. Scorching summers. Cold, dry winters.
After years of living throughout the American West, I knew the feeling of applying moisturizer only to wonder a few hours later where it went.
So I began creating something different.
Botanical skincare made specifically with dry climates in mind.

Maybe it's the tight feeling after washing your face.
The moisturizer you loved somewhere humid suddenly doesn't feel like enough.
The windy afternoon that leaves your skin feeling weathered. Or the first cold week of winter when you find yourself reaching for another layer of something.
Your skin lives where you do. We formulate like it.
And that idea became the beginning of OCASA.
We create skincare around the realities of dry-climate living—pairing traditional ingredients, botanical infusions + a slower approach to formulation with the plants and landscapes that have learned how to thrive in some of nature's toughest conditions.
Meet the Founder Behind OCASA
Hi, I'm Edina.
I grew up in Europe in a family where herbs, good food + time-honored remedies were simply part of everyday life.
Long before I knew words like botanical formulation, I understood that what we put in + on our bodies mattered.
Years later, life brought me to the American West.
I spent years living and working around ranches, photographing the landscapes I fell in love with + experiencing firsthand what dry air, wind, altitude, intense sun + cold winters can do to skin.
And everywhere I looked, I saw plants doing something remarkable.
They adapted.
Jojoba thriving in the desert. Prickly pear holding onto precious water. Hardy herbs returning season after season despite everything the climate threw at them.
I became fascinated by that resilience—and by what traditional herbal practices could teach us about caring for ourselves more simply.
That curiosity eventually became OCASA.

Guided by Herbalism + Traditional Botanical Wisdom
So I kept learning.
My studies in herbalism + botanical skincare have taken me deeper into the traditional uses of plants, formulation, tea blending, botanical preparations + the relationship between skin and the environment around us.
Through the Herbal Academy, I've studied Introductory Herbalism, Botanical Skincare, Tea Blending, and Emulsifiers + Preservatives in Botanical Products, while continuing my education in herbal medicine + traditional European folk practices.
But some of the most important learning still happens with my hands.
Infusing herbs.
Testing textures.
Adjusting formulas.
Watching how an ingredient behaves over time.
Using the products through Wyoming winters + dry Western summers.
Herbalism isn't an aesthetic at OCASA. It shapes how I formulate.

We pair them with time-honored ingredients like tallow + slow herbal infusions to create skincare for people living in places where moisture can feel hard to hold onto.

How We Make Our Small-Batch Skincare
As OCASA has grown, I've watched more + more small skincare brands move production outside their own studios.
I understand why.
But making has always been part of what OCASA means to me.
Our tallow begins as grass-fed + grass-finished beef kidney suet. I slowly dry-render it, filter it + prepare it for formulation.
Our botanicals are slowly infused into oils over time.
Then formulas are blended, whipped, filled, labeled + packed in small batches here in my Wyoming studio.
When you open a jar of OCASA, you're opening something I made—not something I simply put my name on.
