WHAT'S IN THE JAR
NEW TO TALLOW? A few things you may be wondering before your first jar.
Why calendula for combination skin?
We pair whole calendula flowers with jojoba + chia seed oil to create a nourishing formula that doesn't feel like overkill for skin that can be oily in some areas and dry in others.
Will it make oily skin feel greasy?
Tallow is rich + concentrated, so less is more—especially for combination or oilier skin. Start with less than a pea-sized amount and press it into slightly damp skin, focusing more on areas that tend to feel dry.
Is this made for acne-prone skin?
We formulate Calendula for combination, oily + blemish-prone skin, but it isn't an acne treatment. If you're prone to congestion, start with a very small amount and see how your individual skin responds.
Does it contain essential oil or fragrance?
No added fragrance or essential oils. We slowly infuse whole calendula flowers into Arizona-grown jojoba instead, bringing the actual botanical into the formula rather than adding fragrance for scent.
What's the difference between Calendula + Unscented?
Unscented is our simplest formula for dry + sensitive skin. Calendula pairs a whole-flower infusion with oils selected specifically for skin that tends to fluctuate between oily + dry.
Can I use it morning + night?
Yes. Use it morning, evening or whenever your skin needs it. For combination skin, you may prefer a lighter amount during the day + a little more in your evening ritual.
Why should I apply tallow to damp skin?
Tallow is water-free, so we recommend hydrating first. Mist freshly cleansed skin with a hydrosol, then press your tallow into slightly damp skin to help seal that hydration in.
