A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING
How do I use the Hop + Rosemary Scalp & Hair Serum?
Massage a small amount into your scalp + work through your lengths before washing. Let the botanical oils sit for a while, then shampoo as usual. You can also smooth a drop or two over dry ends between washes.
How long should I leave it on before washing?
There’s no need to overcomplicate it. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes before shampooing, or leave it on longer when you have time for a slower hair ritual.
Will it make my hair oily?
This is a concentrated oil treatment, so it’s meant to feel richer than our Rosemary Scalp Elixir. We recommend using a small amount before wash day rather than saturating the scalp and hair.
Can I use it on my ends, too?
Yes. The Hop Scalp Serum was created for both scalp + strands. Use it as a pre-wash treatment through your lengths or smooth a drop or two over dry ends for extra softness + shine.
What’s the difference between The Hop Scalp Serum + the Rosemary Scalp Elixir?
The Hop Scalp Serum is our richer treatment, made with 8 whole herbs slowly infused into 7 botanical oils. The Rosemary Scalp Elixir is lightweight, oil-free + requires no rinsing, making it easy to use between wash days.
Can I use both?
Absolutely. Use the Rosemary Scalp Elixir throughout the week for lightweight, no-rinse scalp care + bring in Hop Scalp Serum before wash day when your scalp + strands are asking for deeper nourishment.
What is a botanical infusion?
A botanical infusion is one of the oldest ways to work with plants. Herbs and botanicals are placed into a carrier oil and left to slowly steep over time (sometimes for months) allowing the plant’s color, scent, and skin‑supportive qualities to gently move into the oil.
Why do you use infusions instead of essential oils?
I choose infusions because they’re gentle, steady, and closer to the way herbalists have worked for generations. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can be too strong for sensitive skin, children, or anyone prone to irritation. Infusions, on the other hand, carry the plant’s gifts in a softer, more balanced way.
By using whole‑plant infusions:
- The scent stays subtle and natural, never overpowering
- The skin receives the plant’s benefits without the intensity of essential oils
- The formulas remain safe for all ages and all skin types
- Each tallow keeps its earthy, herbal identity
Infusions let the plants speak in their own voice, and that’s the kind of skincare I want to make.
